I'll pay the Ladie based on an agreement between us and then some based on how well the date went. I think in the future this board will turn completely into an ATM for Neil - where even just to look at an ad, you have to be a paying member.

I believe the Ladies benefit more if their profiles can be viewed by potential clients. Soon enough this policy will result in the law of diminishing returns.

Is it just the $50.00 or is it greed? I really would love to hear from the ladies what their ratio regular (non-paying) members to VIP's is. I just don't think cutting us regular members like that is BS. As a few others already mentioned before I go somewhere else. If I have to., especially since I also have realized an increased readiness from some called VIP's here to insult members like me more often. This should be like a family not lower class, middle class and upper class members. But whatever, I'm just a lonely crying wolf. Don't think Neil gives a shot what I or other regular members think, because we don't pay. If actually we do. As said before we are part of his popularity. If we go his numbers drop and so will his advertising.

I do not have access to the data but I would be willing to bet that less than 1% of the total membership (not to mention the unregistered lurkers) actually post anything, they come here to read the ads and find dates. I think that I remember a while back that there was over 10,000 registered users and the hits were some of the highest in the web world, just take note of how many posts there are each day and you will see the insignificance of most of the affected functions of the board. And believe me, if a guy is horny enough he will find out how to PM a lady.

I think in the future this board will turn completely into an ATM for Neil - where even just to look at an ad, you have to be a paying member.

I doubt this VERY much. The board has been around for quite a long time and it has not even been close to happening. Neil knows enough to have a carrot to bring people in. AND if it looked THAT profitable Neil would have done it years ago.

Actually the PM system is how the ladies verify they are talking to the right person on the phone. For example: I can call up a provider and say I am FO and entitled to the HR/VIP discount and give some provider names as references that will check out. Unless the lady asks me to send a PM she will never know that I am not really FO. I of course am walkertee, a VIP, with impeceable references who would never have to engage in that kind of trickery but you can all see how some else who isn't an HR/VIP with out any references would benefit from saying they were FO or walkertee. So without the ability to PM how does a lady verify they are talking to the right person?

It seems like most of the changes are to the "social" aspects.

Where's the problem?

Neil has been doing this a long time.

If he feels like he needs to make changes I'm sure he's thought these things through.

Go into the ad section and see how many girls he's providing with a safer place to make a living.

It's a business, it should be expected to make a profit.

There are practical reasons to go see a profile besides the "likes and dislikes".

Sometimes a girl put the phone number in the ad, but may have a private email in her profile which is useful especially if you want to ask for face pictures and she didn't want to use the PM system for privacy reasons.

I bet half the people go to a profile in order to PM someone. You didn't have to but many still do.

It allows you to view who her friends are, and from there you get a sense if she may be a "trouble maker" or "drama queen" or not.

It let's you see all her gallery folders in one place, but if a girl has 4 albums I can see them all in her profiles without looking for them.

But I think Neil has already stated the profile view was a side effect not an intended inhibition so probably will be a non-issue.

I think most of the complaints are the "I used to be able to do this for free but now I can't..."

Life is full of compromises and I will gladly pay a little to be able to hobby a little safer, and if the outing and MSN drama can be significantly reduced, GREAT.

Would like to see what's going to happen with the verified group though...

Im not surprised that BN, from what I can tell, was the first to say that this is basically a work in progress and to have some patience. She's clearly a bright woman.

Neil has already said the reason for the restriction on profile views is due largely to software restrictions. Sometimes with software when you want A, you have to take B and C with it. I'm sure he's evaluating it based on the feedback.

Most importantly, Facebook's value is what it is because it has 900 MILLION members which basically means it gets ungodly traffic. The value of high traffic, Im sure, is not lost upon Neil.

Actually, we're supposed to put all of that info in our ads...theres a huge reminder of everything that has to be included in our ad everytime we go to post one. Ive heard of ads being pulled for not having all the required info, but I really dont follow or read anyone elses ads, so I have no idea if theres an issue with this as you are saying...

Now, I cant say this will force me to post *more* ads, because well...I know me, I wont start posting daily ads even if I set an alarm on my phone, tablet, put up sticky notes and tattoo it on my forearm lol I just suck at posting ads regularly. But....I may try to post at least one ad a week with my availability for that week, and then put a link to the ad in my siggy. That would work right?

Yes, the only hassle being that each time you post a new ad you have to change your "siggy" to link to the new one if your ads are not the same each time, and I think ads do get purged once in a while.

Yeah, I would update the link in my siggy whenever I post a new ad.. Even easier would be to just link to the availability calendar on my website since I always keep that updated. But hrmm...yeah, Ill do something here, I would not be so bothered to keep my siggy updated.

Just as an FYI about the Android App: The free version does not let you respond to topics or PM. $2 for the paid version is not prohibitive. The other thing is that the sigs are not visible in the app, so those who post ads with all the important info in their sigs are going to find that folks are going to have a hard time reaching them.

As far as the other changes, I am not ruffled. I have been a member of this board for at least a decade (my joined date says 2004 because my ID was lost in the big board crash back then). My hobbying is sporadic, which is the reason I never went VIP. I admit I don't go into the profiles often, I just view the ads, and reviews, and post a review if the info will help someone make their decision (or I have something funny to say). As long as I can keep doing that I am happy.

In case I don't say it (I only have 3 posts a day), Thanks for all the info and brotherhood through the years. Plus: Cit is real! Met him at a GT in the early 2000s, and have seen him post!

I said the hits on the site possibly go down, and the more hits on the page the more exposure and the higher the price for ads ... less exposure ... people won't pay that much for ads ... If you had the choice to pay e.g. $200.00 for an ad on a page that gets 100 hits a day and for the same price you would get on a page with 1,000 hits a day, would you still pay $200.00 for the page with 100 hits a day? I wouldn't.

Also if you would have followed the this discussion a little closer, you would have read that quite some ladies do have additional information on their profiles as confirmed by at least one other member here, and I believe that member was a VIP. If you want to know who, just read the posts and you will see.

The problem we "regulars" have now is that we can't contact Ladies through PM's anymore to verify that we are actually on the board and a lot of them require that to even pick up the phone when you call them. So I guess Neil might or might not make more money, but the Ladies will definitely lose out on some new "friends". Yes there are a Few "exceptions" I've said so from the beginning

I'm a non-member who doesn't post in forums, but has benefitted from them to meet a handful of cool women on the board. From where I sit the main issues isn't what it would cost me, but the providers.
To wit:
1. Many require up front that references are sent via PM, a function now unavailable to non-members. A few women don't post a phone #, and only make initial contact via PM. Therefore non-members won't be able to contact some of the ladies.
2. Also, any woman who relies on PMs now will be able to meet no one who doesn't receive a cut rate. Some providers, understandably, don't post a #.
3. I don't know the percentage, Neil would, but I'd venture to guess 1/4 - and likely much more - of the business for women here comes from non-members. With the changes, that percentage will drop and providers now primarily will be seeing clients that receive a discount.
4. As a result, the rates of some providers might go up to offset this.

I had toyed with the idea of joining the site, but didn't use it enough to justify it in my mind. But given the changes, I plan to sign on and enjoy the savings, though ultimately at a cost to the providers that are the lifeblood of the board.

I might be wrong on all counts, and hope this post isn't completey misguided or overly harsh. I would rather have PM-ed these thoughts to Neil, but I can't use the PM function anymore.

1. I require a text with your info so I can look you up on the board. No PM needed, but that's a moot point now.
2. As far as I knew, the admin will delete my post if it doesn't include certain information including my phone number. AM I WRONG?
3. My clients see my post and call me. The shoutbox and ladies in waiting stuff has nothing to do with my business, so am not worried. As long as you can still see my post, I'm good.
4. Sometimes business is good. Sometimes business is really bad. I never blame it on any one thing, and, unless I lose fifty pounds or get a boob job or start offering new services, my rates will remain the same.

Your concerns may be an overreaction, but you haven't been harsh or offensive. TRY your PM. I think you'll still have it.

But if it turns out that this isnt even the place for me to be then well..you know lol

I could be wrong, it's been a while, but when I worked for Adorable, they charged $170 per hour. My post was deleted a couple weeks ago for posting rates between $150 and $200. My impression of that reasoning is that we indi girls have to charge way less or way more than the agencies so we have no chance of competing. Am I wrong? I can't see any other reasonable explanation for this and I agree with you. I'm being told I can't value my services independently. I don't have any other site. This is it and I love it, but I find that rule particularly hard to swallow....pun intended.

Step 1: Choose someone you want to PM, for my example I chose Moderator, because it's not like he has anything else to do.

Step 2: Top right corner of the screen, open the dropdown box where your board name is and select "Personal Messenger".



Step 3: Begin typing the name of the person you wish to PM in the "Recipients Name" field, it will autocomplete and give you a list of names to choose from based on what you type.



Step 4: Fill in the subject (required) and add the text of the message you wish to send, then hit the "Send Message" button below the message field.



You will be rewarded with a nice little message informing you that your message has been sent, and you can go on about your day in the vain hope that you will actually get a reply from the object of your affection/disdain/ridicule (depends on your reason for being here).

Indi ladies here charge all sorts of rates...150-200 seems to be the most common actually, with a few of us over that...

There are no limitations, official or unofficial, that I know of...
we can charge anything we want as long as we include the proper VIP/HR discount.
If the discount is wrong or not included in our ads, then it could be removed.

Lately, I've been super busy on other projects and haven't spent as much time as I would have liked on Indi matters.

Well, the time is upon us and we're going to do something about the things people have been asking of us.

As you have undoubtedly noticed by now, the site looks a bit different. The changes I have implemented are just the beginning of a series of improvements in many areas of the site.

Mostly, the changes have been cosmetic so far. Many of the forums have been shuffled around to make navigating easier and more understandable.

These relatively small changes are clearing the path for us to begin implementing the more significant ones.

Here are the biggest changes that were made last night.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

--- The New Girls that come to the site will be visible to HR's and VIPs ONLY for the first few days of their time on Indi.


--- The SHOUT-BOX is accessible to the girls and paid members. It doesn't matter how many posts a guy has or how long he's been on Indi. Only HR's / VIPs / PREMIUM Members can shout.



--- A new VERIFIED User Group has been created. This will soon become "The talk of Indi". Soon I will unveil the details of of the INDIVERIFICATION SYSTEM. Guys AND Gals will be able to earn a VERIFIED title a few different ways. It's gonna be way cool. If you want some clues, there are some pieces of the new system already in place ... just look around.


--- The FRIENDS system is now limited to HR's / VIPs / PREMIUM Members


--- Viewing Profiles is now limited to HR's / VIPs / PREMIUM Members


--- Android Mobile Users will want to check out Indi on FORUM RUNNER LINK ... There is a FREE and a PAID version ... I am evaluating FORUM RUNNER and your feedback will be important ... They offer some cool benefits for everyone ... So far, I like it. The Android app gives me a clean, crisp interface. Everything fits nicely ... I haven't downloaded the $1.99 version yet ... Wanna see how well the free one handles ... There is an iPhone version but it takes longer to get listed ... Stay tuned.


--- Multiple Screen Names (MSNs) will soon be a thing of the past. At least to a large extent. Thanx to FO and the rest of you that have posted and / or written me with your suggestions. all an effort to force people into buying a vip membership, they know people want to check out profiles of the girls, message the girls, access the picture albums

they don't realize that 98% of non-vip people didn't buy a vip membership after they took away those features

All they accomplished by doing that was losing many customers who were planning on getting a vip membership in the future. I understand you have to make money, but there is no need to take away all the features, just to force us to buy a vip membership, you should've left at least the ability to contact and see the profiles of other non-vip members ... heck at least the ability to see our own profile

what's the point of coming here anymore, if we can't see profiles, or the albums of the girls? if I weren't vip, i pretty much can do nothing on this site anymore .. i can't even contact a fellow indi male member anymore .. I can't even check my own profile

you would think that they would only remove the ability of interact/message the provider's profiles and pics, but no, the they removed the ability to interact with ANY profile on this site, including your OWN profile and the other non-vip members profiles, now I can't talk a friend who is a non-vip member, i cannot message anyone anymore regardless of membership, we cannot do anything here anymore but read like robots
